Long-term self-catering apartments and flatlets

Commalong Lodge offers seven executive self-catering apartments in the heart of Alberton, 25 kilometres from OR Tambo International Airport. It is ideal for guests who need their own space for a longer stay, with all the comforts of home.

Each apartment has an air-conditioner for the warm summer months and a cosy wood-burning fireplace for chilly winter days. Apartments range from 54 to 70 square metres, each with a Queen-size bed. Five units have a full bathroom and two have a shower only.

Every kitchen has granite tops and is equipped with a two-plate stove with oven, a Russell Hobbs microwave, a kettle, a toaster, crockery and cutlery, and a three-piece pot and saucepan set. A two-door 226 litre fridge-freezer holds almost anything that needs chilling, and a breakfast nook with comfortable chairs makes self-catering a breeze.

Each lounge has an L-shaped suite, a 32-inch flat-screen LED TV, a music system and a DVD player. DStv is standard in every apartment, with more than 50 channels to choose from. Free uncapped WiFi keeps guests in touch with family and friends across the globe. Each apartment has a covered verandah with a wooden table and chairs.

Our lapa gives guests access to Johan’s music library of more than 40 000 songs, played through the hi-fi from an iPhone, iPad, iPod or Android phone. A solar-heated pool is ideal for cooling off in the afternoons, and you can braai beside the pool while catching up on the weekend sport on the flat-screen TV in the bar.

The lodge is secured by eight-foot walls with electric fencing and a gate, linked armed response with fixed and remotely operated panic buttons, smoke detectors, and CCTV access control. There is ample secure parking, each apartment is serviced daily from Monday to Friday, and a laundry service can be arranged at an additional cost.
